The White Cloud Acres team is proud to announce a $25,000 donation to the Betterment Foundation of Barnard & Guilford. The donation is funded by Scale, the energy and infrastructure provider developing the proposed data center project in Nodaway County, and it reaffirms the company’s commitment to investing in the local community and contributing to long-term quality of life improvements throughout the region.
The funding will be able to support a range of initiatives that are currently being explored in the communities of Barnard and Guilford, with a focus on recreational improvements, infrastructure upgrades, beautification efforts, support for local gathering spaces, and building other long-term assets in these communities. Potential projects being discussed include:
- Updating playground equipment at the Barnard City Park and Guilford Ball Park
- Adding outdoor fitness equipment at one or both parks
- Construction of pickleball courts at Barnard City Park
- Development of a paved 2-4 lane walking track at Barnard City Park
- Improvements to roads, sidewalks, and drainage infrastructure
- Vacant home and lot clean-up efforts, along with future housing improvements
- Support for local cemeteries, including mowing, stone resetting, driveway repairs, and signage updates
- Installation of electronic signs to communicate school and community events
